Aaron is Boulder's first directly elected mayor, capping a decade of service that began on the city's Planning Board and continued through eight years on City Council.
Mayor Brockett has championed climate resilience, housing affordability, and public engagement. He's running for re-election to keep pushing on the city's budget challenges, homelessness, and wildfire resilience, and to build a Boulder that can pass the test of time.
Campaign Priorities
- Expanding affordable and attainable housing options across Boulder
- Building out real solutions to move people experiencing homelessness off the streets and into housing
- Strengthening mental health and substance-use treatment services
- Cutting emissions to fight climate change, working toward the city's goals of 100% renewable electricity and a 70% emissions cut by 2030
- Preparing Boulder for climate impacts the city can no longer avoid
- Continuing the city's Vision Zero effort to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on Boulder's roads and paths
- Pushing for regional bus rapid transit connections to neighboring communities like Longmont and Lafayette
- Backing Boulder's arts and culture scene and its small-business and startup community
