Vote Aaron Brockett for Mayor!

Boulder Progressives is proud to endorse Aaron Brockett for Mayor again! Aaron moved to Boulder in 2003 with his wife, Cherry — the two met studying music together at Swarthmore College and went on to run a small software development firm together for two decades while raising their kids in North Boulder. After five years on the city's Planning Board, he was elected to City Council in 2015, reelected in 2019, chosen by his council colleagues to serve as mayor in 2021, and then became Boulder's first directly elected mayor in 2023.

Mayor Brockett has championed climate resilience, housing affordability, and public engagement throughout his decade-plus of service. He's running for what he's said will be his final two-year term, to keep pushing on the city's budget challenges, homelessness, wildfire resilience, and making city government easier for residents to work with.

Campaign Priorities

  • Expanding affordable and attainable housing options across Boulder
  • Building out real solutions to move people experiencing homelessness off the streets and into housing
  • Strengthening mental health and substance-use treatment services

  • Strengthening wildfire preparedness and safety requirements in Boulder's highest-risk areas
  • Continuing the city's Vision Zero effort to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on Boulder's roads and paths
  • Pushing for regional bus rapid transit connections to neighboring communities like Longmont and Lafayette
  • Backing Boulder's arts and culture scene and its small-business and startup community
